A single product, taken seriously

Aquamena Water Treatment LLC operates from our own bottling plant in Ajman. We do not diversify into adjacent products, and we have not moved into anything more fashionable. We purify water, we bottle it, and we bring it to people in Ajman, Sharjah and Dubai — which is enough of a job to do well.

The company started in 1989, which in this region means we have been delivering to some addresses for longer than the buildings around them have existed. Households that started with one bottle a week are now offices. Sites we supplied became towers we still supply.

Why the process is the product

Bottled water is bought on trust, because you cannot inspect it yourself. That is uncomfortable for a buyer and it should be. Our answer is not to say the word pure more often — it is to run a process that can be inspected by someone else, and to keep the certificates current.

Water comes in under monitoring, goes through sediment, carbon and micron filtration, then reverse osmosis. It is sterilised with ozone and ultraviolet light rather than chemicals. Food-grade minerals are blended back in to a fixed, low-sodium balance, and it is bottled on an automated line, untouched by hand. The full six stages are here.

What we are audited against

An internal standard is a claim. An audited one is a fact.

• HACCP — our food safety system is built on the internationally recognised Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point method: identify the points where something could go wrong, set a limit at each one, monitor it, and have a documented action if it is ever breached.
• ESMA Emirates Quality Mark — issued by the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology against the UAE national standard for bottled drinking water.

Aquamena is committed to continuous improvement, measured, evaluated and validated for effectiveness both internally and externally.

Our own fleet, on purpose

We deliver on our own vehicles with our own drivers. It costs more than handing the last mile to a third party, and it is the reason a customer can message us at nine in the morning about a delivery that is already loaded and get a straight answer. The line on our bottles, Full Of Life — مليئة بالحياة — is not a slogan about the water being exciting. Water is what makes life on earth possible. Selling it is a plain business and we would rather be plainly good at it than interesting.
